Journal of a solider (chapter 1)

Image
Noble ICE I always wanted to join the military ever since I was 7 and I kept to that Dream.  After going to a military secondary school I made up my mind to join the Military Academy. It was hard because, I knew no one but, after 2 years I mead it into their Academy. Surviving in the academy was not easy but, with my morale boosting sentence ("This why I want to be a solider") I had the trust to keep moving on. After all our hectic training for four years, the day everyone was waiting for came. Finally on our passing out parade day, it had to be canceled because, a friend of mine (Charlie) had abused an instructor that he would deal with when commissioned. So we were put to stay back for an extra week. Then it all went wrong when some people planned to kill the person who was responsible for the delay of our graduation.   I well knowing who it was and it would cause more trouble decided to save him for the sake of us being coursemate (to us soliders is like being a brother

Buhari speaks of Nigerian youths depending on betting

Image
Betting now is also a problem in nigeria by the government  The presidential candidate of the Sustainable National Party (SNP), Ahmed Buhari, yesterday expressed his view on the trend of youths engaging in sports betting to make a living. He said it was a shame for Nigeria that sports betting has become the source of livelihood for millions of youths owing to the level of unemployment in the country. Speaking when he featured as a guest on Channel TV’s Politics Today in Abuja, Buhari said: “The only thing that is keeping millions of young people on the streets going is that they turn to God, they forget that there is a government and they hold onto sports betting. Thanks to Akin Alabi for what he is doing.” According to him, the government needed to make more electric power available for the private sector to thrive and create job opportunities for the teeming youths as a way of reversing the trend. He said: “We need to understand that government has no business doing business. The pri

Things that defied the laws of physics

Image
According to what I was thought the laws of physics were gridi and could not be defied in its area. But after some research I found these out; (1) The Sun Can Make Stuff Hotter Than Itself We intuitively understand the direction that energy  travels -- from the thing with energy to the thing with less energy. That's why the second law of thermodynamics is among the first things you learn in science class that makes you say, "Well, shit, I could have told you that." If you're too hot, you move away from the campfire, not toward it. You don't need science to tell you that heat energy travels from the hot thing to the less-hot thing. Well, everywhere in the universe except the sun. That asshole always has to be the center of attention.  Continue Reading Below There's a discrepancy between what science says should happen and what the sun actually does, and it's known as the sun's coronal heating problem. Essentially, when heat leaves the sun, the laws of t

IPhone x blows up during upgrade

Image
Noble ICE The man said his iPhoneX exploded during software upgrade. Apple is investigating reports than an iPhone X has exploded, after one user claimed on Twitter that his smartphone heated up and started giving off smoke while he was updating its software. This wouldn't be the first time that an iPhone X has suffered overheating problems, and in concert with Apple's recent admission that the smartphone's touchscreen doesn't work properly, they question the tech giant's usually strong reputation for producing reliable hardware. The report of the exploding device arrived on Wednesday, when iPhone X owner Rahel Mohamad tweeted that his "iPhone X just got hot and exploded in the process of upgrading to 12.1 iOS." Pictures accompanying his tweet reveal a smashed and charred-looking iPhone X, while subsequent posts from Mohamad explain that the device "just started sparking off and smoking." In response to his tweet, Apple Support replied,

Meet the keke driver that offer refreshments and give the passenger his card

Image
Noble ICE This is very surprising when keke driver has gone viral after one of his passengers shared his experience while riding in his tricycle. Chena took to Twitter to share photos of Samuela Ogundare, a keke driver, at work in Lagos state. Samuel is no ordinary keke driver. He has distinguished himself by calling himself a “corporate keke driver” and he isn’t that in name alone. Samuel dresses in corporate attire, not minding the nature of his job, and drives with consideration for his passengers and other road users. He has a jar of sweets attached to a makeshift holder for his passengers. He also has business cards in his tricycle for passengers who might want his service in the future. This man is taking his business to another level.

ASSU speaks on calling off the national wide strike

Image
Noble ICE The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, has said it was not in a position to determine whether an end to its ongoing strike is in sight. ASUU Chairman, University of Abuja chapter, Dr. Ben Ugheoke, said this on Wednesday in an interview with DAILY POST in Abuja. Recall that the lecturers, penultimate week embarked on industrial action over the failures of the Federal Government to implement its part of the agreement it signed with the union towards ensuring proper funding of the universities, the payment of full salaries by state-owned universities, and the payment of earned academic allowances, among others. Speaking, Dr. Ugheoke explained that the onus lay with the Federal Government to call ASUU to the negotiation table with a view to bringing an end to the strike. “I can’t tell if an end to the strike is in sight. If the Federal Government calls us for negotiations, we are not against that. But, we are not in the government’s position,” he said. On whether

THE REASONS OF ASSU STRIKE NOV,2018

Image
Noble ICE The Academic Staff Union of Universities in Nigeria, ASUU, says it has commenced a “total and comprehensive indefinite” strike due to the federal government’s failure to fulfill the 2009 agreement made with the union. Briefing journalists on Monday after an emergency meeting of its National Executive Council held at the University of Abuja, ASUU president, Biodun Ogunyemi, said the industrial action began Sunday, August 13. He said during the strike period, there will be no teaching, examination or attendance of statutory meeting of any kind in any of ASUU’s branches till the government meets the union’s demands. Among the issues ASUU has raised this time are the 2009 agreement and 2013 MOU are; funding for the revitalization of public universities; earned academic allowances; registration of Nigerian universities pension management company and pension matters; university staff school, fractionalisation and non payment of salaries among others. The union called on Nigerian
